Brow-sing For Your Look

There have been a multitude of eyebrow trends throughout history. Women have gone to extremes (like plucking out all their eyebrow hair!) to looking like the most coveted celebrity. What women are finally starting to realize is how beautiful the brows you were born with are!

Clara Bow and her extremely slanted brows were coveted by every girl in the roaring 20’s

Greta Garbo had the thinly arched eyebrows down to a science in the 30’s

Audrey Hepburn was one of the first celebrities in the 50’s to show that going au natural can be the prettiest of all

Elizabeth Taylor as Cleopatra had the girls of the 60’s reaching for the heavy pencil to emulate her dark eyes

So girls, the moral of this story is to embrace what God gave ya and love those eyebrows for who they are! Finding out what your natural shape should be is very easy- all the guidelines are on your face already.

The end of your brow should line up diagonally with your nostril and the main arch should line up with the outer edge of your pupil. If you are doing this at home, please tweeze sparingly! It’s better to have to do more than to realize you’ve suddenly plucked yourself to looking “constantly surprised”. Use an eyebrow brush like the Royal & Langnickel Brow & Lash Groomer (BC521) to keep the hairs in place while you tweeze.

The last step would be to take some baby scissors and trim longer hairs to give a finished appearance.

If you have naturally thin eyebrows and need some filling in, a small angled brush will give the most natural look. Pencils can appear too harsh and theatrical. The Royal & Langnickel Brow/Lash brush (BC510) has the perfect size angled brush.

Use a powder brow filler like Anastasia’s Brow Powder Duo to create a very natural look!

One last tip: If you have never styled your eyebrows before, or you are hesitant to do it yourself, go see a professional! They will give you a great base to start with and you can do the upkeep from there.
